Kikuo Ibe, often hailed as the Father of G-SHOCK, embarked on a remarkable journey that led to the creation of the unbreakable timepiece that has become a symbol of durability and toughness. Born in 1952, Kikuo Ibe earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Sophia University in 1976. He joined Casio, initially assigned to the Design Department, where he was involved in digital watch construction development.
